The Chuck Reed Memorial Fund

To honor the life and legacy of Chuck Reed by funding causes related to education, wellness, and the environment.

  • Education

Chuck devoted his entire career to education. While his work was at a high level with the leaders of colleges and universities, he strongly believed in the magic that can happen when a student is matched with the right educational opportunity. One of the fund’s first initiatives is a college journalism scholarship at his high school alma mater, Omaha Central.

  • Wellness

Chuck took up cycling and running in college to lose weight, which turned into a lifetime passion for wellness. During his life, he was active in numerous organizations that promote health and fitness. The fund hopes to continue to promote and support active lifestyles.

  • Environment

Chuck loved nature and exploring natural areas, particularly the tallgrass prairies of his home in the Midwest. He promoted access to nature by serving during his life on the boards of two trails organizations. The fund will explore ways to spark the same love of nature in others.

About Chuck

The man, the myth, the legend.

Chuck Reed was an incredibly dedicated family man who also brightened the days of countless friends and co-workers with his outgoing, fun-loving way. His career was spent as a higher education consultant. Through his sage advice on branding, image, recruitment and academic programming, he contributed to the success of hundreds of schools across the country. And few tackled life as vigorously as Chuck, a devoted father of three who was an avid swimmer and cyclist and loved the outdoors. His life was tragically cut short by heart failure in 2022 at age 62. His family has created this fund to honor his memory and promote his many interests.
